Seniors Have Seniority

Posted: December 18, 2017
By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

Seniors sometimes wonder whether they can participate in things that others do. They might think they are too old or frail or too far gone down a road they can’t recover from to benefit from something the rest of society does.  Chiropractic is for everyone, regardless of age or condition because everyone has a spine with their potential just waiting inside. Like other things can be modified for different ages and conditions, there are different chiropractic adjustments that can be done in different ways that can be received by everyone.

For example, babies eat and move differently than children or adults.  They drink breast milk and crawl on the floor, which is the proper nutrition and exercise for babies!  Toddlers, teens and adults have their own unique versions of nutritional and exercise demands. This dynamic is no different for seniors.  They may not go for a run, but they could do yoga, pool aerobics or some other form of low impact exercise.  Seniors have their own nutritional requirements as well.

Chiropractic care works for seniors the same way.  There are a number of low force techniques for people who deal with conditions such as arthritis, difficulty moving or have a hard time even getting on and off the adjusting table.  Specific chiropractic also requires only one or two areas to be addressed to adjust the entire spine and it is usually not where the pain is, making it even easier for seniors to receive care. Adjustments only take a minute or two and they can be done in a number of positions so everyone can be comfortable within their individual limitations.

Can’t sit? No problem!  Can’t lay face down? No problem! Can’t lay down at all? No problem at all!  If you are a senior citizen, or have a family member who is, get here and we will take care of the rest. We all know that our seniors are taking more drugs with poorer outcomes than ever before. We see the printed lists of medications and plastic tackle boxes to organize them, and the lists are only getting longer and the boxes bigger. Wouldn’t it be nice to shorten that list or throw it away completely? We think so too!  Chiropractic allows everyone to be there best. Yet, our seniors have been convinced they can’t be better when in fact, their potential is just waiting inside them to be expressed.

At Creation Chiropractic, our seniors also don’t have to be in awkward gowns or examination positions. They only need to sign in, ask any questions they might have for the day and then get a simple adjustment. Since there are no appointments after the first visit, it gets even easier. They can just look at our convenient hours offered six days a week and walk right in. Super simple for our seniors; their time, their way, their life.

Hello Germs!

By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

It’s that time of year again: the Holidays. There are many seasons throughout the calendar year. Related to health, there are also allergy seasons and let’s not forget, the dreaded cold and flu season. The truth is, there are no such things. These are just names given to specific times of the year when many people have similar reactions. In reality, allergies and colds and the flu have more to do with the person than any place or thing. People love to blame the trees, the pollen or even the wind, but allergies aren’t about any of these things. Likewise, the problem also isn’t about any particular cold or flu bug. It’s about the person with the allergy, the cold, or the flu.

Here is a short course in microbiology, which is the study of the germs and microbes and their relationship to a society that has feared them for far too long. You see, everyone is exposed to practically everything, whether we know it or not or feel symptoms related to it or not. Who we are when we are exposed to anything in our environment ultimately determines how our body will handle it.

The famous chemist, Louis Pasteur, was one of the founders of the popular germ theory. However, on his deathbed he admitted to his colleagues, “It is the soil, not the seed.” The seed is the germ that is often demonized for causing illnesses such as allergies, colds, the flu, or worse. The soil is your body, the terrain that seeds grow in if your body is comprised. So really, what we have at various times of the year are compromised seasons. It all depends on how we are, not the time of year or even the environment. Why do some people react to pollen and others don’t?Why does the flu bug seem to affect some people but not others? Do germs like some people but not others? Of course not! It depends on how we take care of ourselves and in particular, how our immune system is functioning.

DD Palmer, the founder chiropractic, said this:

One question was always uppermost in my mind in my search for the cause of disease. I desired to know why one person was ailing and his associate, eating at the same table working in the same shop, at the same bench, was not.

Why?

What difference was there in the two persons that caused one to have pneumonia, catarrh, typhoid or rheumatism, while his partner, similarly situated, escaped?

Why?

This question had worried thousands for centuries and was answered in September 1895.

Your nervous system controls everything in your body, including your immune system. When you have interference in this system, nothing in you works as well. With chiropractic adjustments, the intelligence running your body is expressed again fully, allowing your immune system to also work optimally. There have been studies done to show that there is about a 60% increase in immune system function with chiropractic adjustments. Wow! What is really misleading is that your back may even feel great, but your immune system could be dramatically compromised, setting you up for the next set of symptoms at the next comprised season.

So stop blaming the latest pollen count or the bug that seems to go around preying on people like some kind of monster. The only thing you really have to fear is a misunderstanding of the basic concepts about how your body really works and is designed to protect you if we simply recognize our relationship with the things around us. Schedule an appointment with a chiropractor today to find the interference that is preventing you from being your best. Start fighting off the things that have gotten you down so you can live a life again with the function that is your birth right instead of a life with dysfunction and fear. Chiropractic will truly help you make it the most wonderful time of the year.

COLD & FLU SEASON HELP!

Posted: November 27, 2017
By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

Cold and Flu Season HelpSometimes in life, the right things get demonized and the wrong things get the credit. The concept of being sick is a good example. Many people don’t understand what sickness really means because they have a sick perception of being sick! When they have cold or flu related symptoms, they often assume it is bad and then try to treat the sickness out of them, but instead end up just running their health down. After all, who likes feeling tired, achy and sniffly? And don’t healthy people feel good? But if we put it into perspective, dead people don’t get any symptoms either! So what gives? Well, all these symptoms are coming from an innate intelligence working through our bodies to protect and heal us. Which one of these two functions do you think is bad for us? The answer is neither! A different question might be, why does the amazing intelligence within us need to produce any of these sickness symptoms in the first place?

The cold and the flu go together like immune and system. Without this system, your body could never fight off the things it has every moment you are alive, and not just when you feel symptoms. In addition, the immune system is controlled by the most important system in your body, the nervous system. When there is interference to this supreme system, nothing else in your body can possibly work as well, including your immune system.

Have you ever noticed that some people are never sick, some people are always sick and yet other people are like dominoes, where it seems like germs just knock down the next person in line? If one person is always sick and another person is never sick, does that mean that germs like some people and don’t like others? In truth, germs are around us all the time. We actually have a healthy relationship with them as long as we are functioning properly. Everyone gets the flu. The real question is what are you going to do with the flu?

This also means that why we get sick depends on how strong our immune system is before we even get sick, and therefore how well our nervous system is working, too. So the difference between a cough and a coffin isn’t the strength of the microbe we are exposed to, but rather how strong our body is to begin with. After all, there is no such thing as a flu season, but there is such a thing as a compromised season. These are really just the various times throughout the year that we are more vulnerable to the exact same microbes we would demonize if we don’t understand how our relationship with the environment really works.

Now, here is where chiropractic comes in: The cause of your health isn’t outside of you, depending on germs or anything else, it is inside you! You and everyone you know gets regular interference to their nervous system, called a spinal subluxation. It prevents the intelligent messages trying to communicate between your brain and your body through your spine. This means you must have your spine checked just as regularly as these subluxations happen, and only Chiropractors are specially trained to detect and remove spinal subluxations.

If you haven’t noticed it yet, this is also a message of empowerment. Once you realize that you can now take control of your health, your entire life changes for the better as well. Instead of being fearful that you don’t get sick or feel lucky when you don’t, or even dreading the symptoms associated with being sick, you can turn your compromise into a promise. And the promise is that as long as your nervous system is working properly, you can be assured that everything else in your body is working as it is designed too, including your immune system. This can only happen with chiropractic care. Call today to begin living a life without fear.

Do Your Blood Pressure Issues Make Your Blood Boil?

Posted: November 20, 2017
By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

Getting frustrated by your blood pressure issues? Many people are told they have high blood pressure. Some are told that they have low blood pressure. Either way, the concern immediately goes to just trying to treat the effects of the blood pressure, often times with no success. Although this may sound logical on a certain level, there are a number of assumptions associated with it once we get a better understanding of what blood pressure really is. What’s worse, they are usually unaware of a common, significant cause: spinal subluxations.

Have you ever wondered what makes blood pressure “high” or “low?” We all have an innate intelligence working within us from conception and it knows exactly what the pressure should be for every moment of any of the demands required of our living body. The cardiac system alone cannot determine this because everything, including the heart, gets its marching orders from the supreme system that controls and coordinates everything in the body: the nervous system.

This vital system is monitoring the demands on the body and responds perfectly when there is no interference. If there is a spinal subluxation interfering with the nerves that detect stress, and also with the nerves allowing it to adapt accordingly, that same intelligence cannot communicate its needs as it should. When there is no interference, if blood pressure is higher or lower than common, the body is doing exactly what it must to survive. If it didn’t, you would die.

How can blood pressure be higher or lower than normal and still be right? Imagine yourself exercising. If you were to measure your blood pressure, it would be much higher than when you are at rest. That is because your demands are much higher with exercise. If your pressure didn’t increase, you would pass out. What determines whether the body is doing something appropriate or not? Again, it is your body’s ability to adapt through your nervous system, and specifically through clear nerve channels in the spine that connect your brain to everything else in your body. Many people are walking around with backs and necks that feel great, yet they have spinal subluxations interfering with the brain's ability to communicate with the cardiovascular system, which often results in high blood pressure, or even low blood pressure, depending on the person.

Some fascinating research has shown that people with blood pressure issues had their numbers improve as if they were taking several blood pressure medications, in a span of just one month of spinal adjustments. Now, chiropractic doesn’t treat blood pressure, but isn’t this an important fact to know? How many people do you know, including yourself, who might have tried everything to treat their blood pressure, but nothing seems to help? Many of them might simply have spinal subluxations complicating their condition. There is no such thing as a “blood pressure adjustment” but what there is for everyone is a specific chiropractic assessment for everyone to know if and when they have this interference.

Get checked today and make sure your blood pressure is exactly what it should be.

Scared Of Care

By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

There are many reasons why people seek Chiropractic. Some are curious, some are excited, some are determined and some are just plain exhausted.  Regardless of the motivations to begin care, there are also many people who stay home and are not receiving the care they so desperately need.  They are uncertain because chiropractic seems so different and even scary compared to what they already know or do.

Sometimes people don’t do things because they think they won’t like it or they have actually experienced something they don’t like. Much of the time they have heard things second hand from someone else that may not even be true or they have had a bad experience that was simply unnecessary.

There are different ways to remove nerve interference with different chiropractic techniques much like there are different ways to get in shape through different forms of working out. Whether it is weight lifting, running, swimming or a specific sporting activity, there is a way for everyone to become fit. There are chiropractic adjustments that are manual and more traditional and there are also other techniques that use such low force, they can barely be felt at the point of contact.

Spinal adjustments can be done on pregnant women, infants, elderly and the injured. They can be done on people who are missing limbs or organs, those who have had surgery and those who can’t even lay down.  There is virtually no reason for someone not to receive chiropractic care unless they are having an immediate emergency crisis, and then they are able to start care as soon as they are stable again.

One concern by those in pain is if the adjustment is going to hurt.  The great news is that the adjusting contact point is rarely the same area where the pain is and even if it was, very low force adjustments can be done virtually anywhere without discomfort of any kind.

Other concerns may be compromising positions or having invasive exams. For whatever experiences you may have had in medicine and therapy, your experience at Creation Chiropractic doesn’t involve any of these concerns, even if you have had a negative experience at another office.  Our goal is to deliver the most specific and scientific chiropractic adjustments, allowing your body to function at its highest level while having you be as comfortable as possible.  We promise to give you a different and better experience than any you have had before.  Anyone can benefit and truly be at ease at Creation Chiropractic. Call us today and find out what you’ve been missing.

Autoimmune Disease Diagnosis - Now What?

Posted: November 6, 2017
By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

It’s time to bring some order to disorder.  There is no such thing as an “autoimmune disease”, but there IS a common misunderstanding about the intelligent order of the body.

A central principle of Chiropractic states:

“The forces of Innate Intelligence never injure or destroy the structures in which they work.”

This means that the intelligence that created and maintains your body is always working for your best interest.

Always.  No exceptions.

Even when we don’t understand it or appreciate it, every thing the body does is the best strategy for the situation.  Everything we might observe as disorder, such as the immune system appearing to fight the body or the body appearing to fight itself, is really just the body fighting for us on the battlefield that IS us.  And without these immune system soldiers, we would lose the war of life sooner than we could ever blame them.

Without this vital defense, we would be in worse shape or even dead if that battle wasn’t being waged and at the right time and right way.  Without inflammation, the main way the immune system protects and heals us, we would be dead. But because this process is usually associated with illness, inflammation gets the blame for the illness instead of the credit for responding to it.  If we only see soldiers with war, we could wrongly conclude that soldiers caused the war instead of the reason why the soldiers are called onto the battlefield to fight for us in the first place.

There is only one catch to ensure you have an optimally functioning immune system, ensure there is no interference to your nervous system, the master controller of your entire body.  When there is interference to this master system, nothing in your body functions as well, including your immune system and the proper function of inflammation.

Spinal subluxations prevent your brain from communicating properly with the rest of your body and ultimately mean that a problem in your back will keep your immune system from moving forward in protecting you the way it should.

Studies have shown that subluxations will significantly affect your white blood cell count, a good meter stick of how your immune system is working.  Conversely, when subluxations are specifically analyzed and adjusted by your Chiropractor, communication is improved and your immune system begins to respond normally again.

What often looks like your body fighting itself is really just your compromised immune system fighting the best it can with one hand tied behind your back, because that is exactly where the real problem is.  So get your spine checked today for vertebral subluxations to allow your immune system to protect you once again from disorder to order, through your immune system and your nervous system, from the Innate Intelligence that animates all life, including yours.

Twin Engines

By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

There are two very special sisters that grew up west of the Twin Cities and they both recently graduated with teaching degrees.  They were on the cover of Time magazine as children and even starred in a reality TV show about their lives, just for being themselves.  I doubt they have ever been to a Chiropractor, much less know anything about Chiropractic but they literally embody and exemplify some of the most fundamental principles of  Chiropractic and all but prove that medicine is wrong about one of their most beloved and core beliefs.  These sisters didn’t have a choice in the matter and preferred that people wouldn’t stare, but they simply can’t help being one of only a handful of dicephalic parapagus twins in the world. They live a conjoined life.

In the case of Abby and Brittany Hensel, that means they are the same in their lower half but are almost two completely different people from the waist up.  They have almost double the organs, including spines and nervous systems and even personalities. Abby and Brittany are essentially two people living in one body.

Abby is better at math, Brittany is better at writing.  One is afraid of heights while one is not.  One likes adventure and taking charge, the other is quieter and is more of a follower.  If one is cold, it is not uncommon for the other to be warm.  When this happens, there is even a distinct line down the middle of their body showing the difference between the two, even though the room is the same temp. One girl’s skin turns white from her nervous system constricting the blood vessels on her side, while the skin of the other one turns pink because her nervous system is more relaxed, allowing more blood flow to the surface of her skin.  If that’s not enough, when one sister gets sick it is not unusual for the other to feel fine, even though they have been exposed to the same microbes.

That’s right. Brittany is more prone to infections and sickness, getting the flu more often and at different times than Abby.  So when Brittany has the flu, Abby is not only not sick, she’s even complains of being bored! Can you imagine half of you being sick and the other half not? Truly amazing!! There’s only one problem with this:  They have the same circulatory system. That’s right, they share the exact same blood supply. How is this even remotely possible according to the well-accepted medical theory that health is an outside-in endeavor and specifically that microbes are to blame for all of this? Don’t look now, but the germ theory is sick. The good news is there is a better way to live than fearing germs.

Medical theories are Chiropractic histories and medical mysteries are Chiropractic certainties.  This is because according to the germ theory of disease, it should be impossible for only one of these girls to get sick when the other is not.  BJ Palmer, the developer of Chiropractic, once said that if the germ theory were correct, there would be no one alive to believe it.  If we’re exposed to microbe, we’re supposed to be sick with that microbe because it’s in us.  If we’re not exposed to it, we shouldn’t be.  It should be impossible for half of the same body be infected with the same microbe while the other half is not.  In reality, the microbe is everywhere in the entire body or it is nowhere.  Did these girls remember to follow the advice of their doctor to not touch the other so the one sister doesn’t get the other sick? That sounds pretty absurd now, doesn’t it?

Kidding aside, the Chiropractic certainty is this:  Not only do we each have an Innate Intelligence that controls and coordinates each of our bodies, the biological principles that chiropractors adhere to honors each individual body to intelligently and uniquely respond in time and place to the exact demands required from the same environment. Ultimately, the thing that determines how we respond to our environment and the microbes in it is our nervous system.  You could also call it our environmental detection system.  It communicates the Innate Intelligence within us that detects and more importantly responds to it, depending on its ability to perceive the germ filled world.  When we realize that health comes from within, we stop fearing the world without and start living a philosophy that respects the inborn wisdom that brings us from two cells to this article.

The only logical thing to do is to simply acknowledge this intelligence, honor each of our individual perceptions to express each of our unique reactions, concerning ourselves with any interference to it.  When it comes to germs, the question isn’t so much if you’ve got it or not, the real question should be,  “What are you going to do with it?” In order to have a proper relationship with our environment and the invisible life within it, we have to make sure our nervous system is working without interference.  This is what a Chiropractor does and why you need to see one on a regular basis so you can be your best.  Each of those twins are in charge of their half of their body and we are all in charge of our half of the environment; the inside half.

Consideration Soup

Posted: September 11, 2017
By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

Chiropractic affects everything in your body, but everything chiropractic affects is also affected by other things as well.  Spinal interference affects your entire body because your nervous system controls and coordinates everything in your body, but other factors affect your body and your life as well.  Your health and how you feel ends up being one big consideration soup.

Lots of things go in a soup, but regardless of the meat or veggies or herbs, you need a broth. It is the base of any soup and holds all the other ingredients together. Your body’s broth is your nervous system and its ability to communicate the Innate Intelligence that created you and continues to run you.  Without a base to connect everything, you can’t have soup and you can’t have life. If we consider other ingredients in the soup, we find a number of environmental and circumstantial factors that will affect the how the soup tastes and how your body feels.  Let’s take a look at some of the more common stresses and concerns that affect your health.

Chemical stress: This ranges from what you eat and drink to all the chemicals you are exposed to throughout your day and night.  Dietary issues alone can cause inflammation in your body, so anything you eat or drink that causes your immune system to try to protect and heal you, deserves a thorough investigation. If your body is reacting to foreign substances such as processed food with artificial ingredients or stimulants, you stand a good chance of having pain because your body is simply trying to slow you down while you address the cause. We are also exposed to a barrage of other chemicals, ranging from bathroom and cleaning products to building and machine waste products.  Anything that forces your body to turn on its fight or flight defenses is worth a closer look, so spend some time learning about the foreign substances you are exposed to on a regular basis.  And don’t assume that just because it is approved by the government or endorsed by a particular group that something is ok for you because this is often not the case.

Physical stress:  The factor relates to all the physical things we do, both active and passive.  Active things would include poor exercise habits, overuse syndromes, and fatigue in general.  Passive physical stresses might include ergonomic issues such as a bad bed, pillow, chair or couch. They might be happening at work, home or even during recreation and sometimes they are cleverly disguised as our favorite hobby.  Either way, if our body needs to adapt to a less than ideal situation long enough, it physically changes as well and can result in long term limitations that hold back the rest of your health.  Pay more attention to what you make your body do and you will get a better appreciation for what it goes through, giving you an opportunity to improve it along the way.

Emotional stress: This one is harder to relate to because you can’t see it.  You can feel it and anticipate it but you often have nothing to show for it.  It can wear you down over time like water drills a hole into a rock, but you can’t point to it and it’s different for everyone, because it’s all about perception.  One person’s gold is another one’s garbage, so a crossword puzzle could give one person an entertaining hour but give another person a migraine.  After all, if someone swore at you in Portuguese, you would have to know the language to be insulted by it.  Take some time to find out what really matters and limit the things that can tax your mind necessarily.

There are times when unrealistic expectations can otherwise cause valid things to get blamed that don’t deserve it.  There will always be people who won’t lose weight when they work out or high blood pressure that doesn’t reduce with diet changes but neither takes away from the importance of exercise and diet.  Chiropractic can also be blamed for things it can’t or shouldn’t do.  For example, someone could receive essential chiropractic care expecting to feel better but if they are inflamed from their lifestyle and are adapting to their limitations as good as possible, they could still continue to have chronic conditions and pain that limit them as well.

Understanding all the ingredients in your consideration soup will help you appreciate everything that your body deals with, and help you assign blame where it actually belongs.  Maybe it’s the turnip that’s causing the foul taste and not the broth and maybe it’s the gluten causing your pain instead of the interference, but don’t blame the broth holding the soup together and don’t blame the intelligence keeping you alive and holding you together.

Just know that no matter what other ingredients there are, your soup of life will always be better in a broth made with Chiropractic.   Bon Appetit!

When Am I Going To Get Better?

Posted: September 4, 2017
By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

If you have already started your chiropractic care, it’s too late.  You are better.  And you will continue getting better as long as you continue to have the interference removed that has been holding you back your entire life, not just when your symptoms started.  Getting better only starts when you start to address what is holding back the Innate Intelligence that is behind all life.  Conversely, getting worse happens when we stop having interference removed from our life, essentially ignoring the power that provides all our potential to heal.

What most people mean by getting better is when will their particular concern go away. Well, let’s put it into perspective.  No matter where you go to have anything go away, no one can tell you how anything will go specifically in you.  If they do, they are guessing because every single person is unique and responds differently because our symptoms are as unique as the conditions behind them.  How many different ways can people feel with heart disease or cancer?  It’s the same way with nerve interference.

The one concern you should hope doesn’t go away, is the concern for whether or not your body is working at its best without interference to the intelligence that runs it. This interference happens at the spinal junction between your brain and your body.  When bones misalign from normal positions controlled by your Innate Intelligence, they interfere with every process, condition and experience in your body.  They happen early in life and if they aren’t addressed, your body just gets used to being less than it is capable of, floating around on Plan B: surviving instead of THRIVING.

When you receive this special type of care, your body immediately moves to a higher level of function.  It doesn’t have a choice!  It waits for every opportunity to work better and it jumps at the chance to use a constructive force to catapult itself to a better state, and the chiropractic adjustment is especially made for it. When a misaligned bone shifts towards normal, this allows the communication in your body to work properly by shifting everything else in your body towards normal as well.

Things brings up a concept that is SO IMPORTANT, many people have discontinued their care before they could receive the true benefits they so desperately need and deserve.  It’s the principle of time.  Pertaining to your body, every process within you requires time and there is momentum going on, whether you are aware of it or not.  The longer your body has been in a certain state, the harder and longer it takes to move to another state.  If you haven’t been eating right, getting exercise or having your spinal interference removed, your body has gotten used to a state of disrepair.

As we begin to address your spinal dysfunction, you could feel anything at first. Some people feel immediately better, like how a first work out can feel refreshing.  Some people feel a change in symptoms as they move around their body, like feeling muscles for the first time with a new workout.  Some people feel worse at first while their body has to work differently, like getting off the couch and going for a run.  Regardless, all of these scenarios will see someone through to a better place as time goes on and your body literally has to get used to true normal again while it heals, possibly for the first time.

Of all the experiences, the hardest one for people to relate to is when they don’t feel any different at all.  They begin this new thing, they know it’s good for them and they are just waiting for the first sign of feeling better. There are only really two possibilities:  It will take more time for their body to heal before they feel a difference or they simply have another cause for their symptoms.  It is not uncommon for someone to not feel a change in their symptoms for months or even a year or more.  In fact, it takes up to 3-4 years for most of your body to completely change from whatever new habit we start.

If your symptoms are coming from another cause, the last thing you should want is interference to your master system that affects everything in your body.  Either way, there is no way to receive the full benefits of chiropractic until you take the time to let time heal you and then continue to let your body be its best in a way nothing else can provide for you.  No matter what other stresses there are in your life, your ability to handle all stress is improved with your Chiropractic care.  It has been said that you cannot change the wind but you can adjust the sails. There are many winds that blow our boats around in this day and age but if you stay the course with Chiropractic, you will always be pointed away from the storm.

Chiropractic And Plantar Fasciitis

Posted: August 28, 2017
By: Written by Dr. Matthew Alvord,

Things are sometimes not what they seem.  For example, plantar fascia is the normal tissue covering the arch of your feet.  When it inflames, the medical field puts an “itis” at the end of the name and calls it “plantar fasciitis”.  The problem is that the new name doesn’t address at all why the old name all of a sudden needed a new one.

It should seem that if a body part has a diagnosis, that part of the body would be the problem itself but this is often not the case.  Just because someone has plantar fasciitis doesn’t mean the problem is with the plantar fascia itself. In reality, that inflamed tissue is doing exactly what it needs to do to protect and heal itself from the demands required of it.

The burning question about burning in your feet should be WHY.  Why that body part?  Why is it inflamed? If the body is always intelligent and it takes more energy to inflame than to not, why would the body be forced to defend and heal itself, especially if there wasn’t an obvious injury.

As it turns out, no body part is an island unto itself.  Every     part of the body is connected with every other part physically,     chemically and neurologically.  That last part means the nervous system connects your entire body together, from your brain to your big toes and back again.  Well, guess what is between your brain and big toes?  Everything is affected, including your spine and legs, all the way down to the plantar fascia on the bottom of your feet.

Ultimately, that area of your body is connected with the function of everything else up to the top of your head and it means the cause of plantar fasciitis is really somewhere other than the foot. From experience, those symptoms are often a problem with the great connector between the brain and the body:  Your spine.

This is true for many conditions and symptoms.  Interference in your spine will cause all kinds of dysfunction throughout your entire body, often resulting in plantar fasciitis.

Here is a common scenario:  The spine misaligns, usually with common demands and forces pushing it around. The bones that normally protect the delicate spinal nerves now can actually work against it by causing interference to your brain.  In turn, your brain must intelligently deal with the situation by specifically twisting your body so it can compensate for the interference.  If it didn’t, you would most likely fall over on your next step or have even worse dysfunction than you already have.

As your spine twists, so go your legs.  Your lower extremities have to contort to compensate for your twisted spine higher up.  One hip typically shifts higher on one side, causing your weight distribution to shift abnormally more to one side as well. This also forces one leg to turn out and the other leg to turn in, and it happens all the way down to your feet. It affects your heels, the balls of your feet and the tissue holding them together:  Your Plantar Fascia.

You can now see how easy it is to have a misaligned spine actually cause or complicate what would otherwise look like just a foot problem.  The real misleading thing is that often people with plantar fasciitis will have only foot pain and the rest of them will feel fine.

Just remember that many people with a heart problem only have arm pain yet their chest feels fine.  Since you cant feel the actual spinal nerve interference and only chiropractors are specifically trained to find it, it is vitally important to get your spine checked to make sure the foot pain below you isn’t coming from your spine behind you.
